Health pass: what you need to know

Since June 9, 2021, the health pass has been put in place temporarily to support the French in returning to normal life while minimizing the risk of contamination.

It is required to participate in events where the brewing of the public is more at risk in terms of health.

Since July 21, 2021, the "pass  sanitary facilities ”is extended to all places of leisure and culture bringing together more than 50 people (performance halls, amusement parks, concert halls, festivals, sports halls, cinemas, etc.).

Until August 30, 2021: young people aged 12 to 17 are exempt from a "health pass". After this date, they will be part of the general system.

What is the health pass?

The health pass consists of presenting, in digital format (via "My notebook"  The TousAntiCovid application  ) or paper, proof of non-contamination of Covid, among the following 3 (one of these 3 proofs is sufficient):

  1. The vaccination certificate , provided that people have a complete vaccination schedule:

    All people vaccinated, including those who were vaccinated at the beginning of January, can collect their vaccination certificate.  on the Health Insurance portal  by connecting via  France Connect  . In addition, any health professional can find a vaccination certificate and print it if a person requests it.

    • 2 weeks after the 2nd injection for double injection vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca);

    • 4 weeks after injection for single injection vaccines (Janssen);

    • 2 weeks after the injection for vaccines in people who have had Covid.

  2. Proof of a negative RT-PCR or antigen test of less than 48 hours. All PCR and antigenic tests generate proof as soon as the professional enters the result in the SI-DEP database, which can be printed directly and which is also made available to the patient via an email and an SMS to go to the recover on  SI-DEP  .

Proof of recovery: RT-PCR or positive antigen test dated at least 15 days and less than 6 months.


Self-tests do not result in the issuance of certified proof and are not considered as health proof.

You will be asked to provide an identity document to verify that it matches the identity appearing on the "health pass", namely names, first names and date of birth.

Is the presentation of the health pass compulsory?

If access to the show for which you hold a ticket is subject to the control of your "health pass" in application of article 1 of law n ° 2021-689 of May 31, 2021 relating to the management of crisis recovery health and decree n ° 2021-699 of June 1, 2021 prescribing the general measures necessary for the management of the exit from the health crisis modified by decree n ° 2021-724 of June 7, 2021 (articles 2-1 and following, and article 47-1), then access to the show is subject to the control of one of the supporting documents referred to in Articles 2-2 and 2-3 of Decree No. 2021-699 generating a QR code eligible for the “Health Pass” system.

It is your responsibility to ensure the validity of your proof on the day of the show, and to resort, if necessary, to another means of proof eligible for the “health pass” system.

Access to the show will be refused to any ticket holder if it is impossible for him to present
a valid "health pass"

The purchaser of the ticket will not be able to obtain reimbursement for his ticket in the event of refusal of access for non-validity or non-presentation of the “health pass”, for whatever reason.

Starting at what age ?

This obligation will apply to 12-17 year olds from September 30.

Should I bring a mask?

For events of less than 1000 people for which the sanitary pass is not applied, the mask remains compulsory.

For events for which the health pass is applied, the mask remains strongly recommended (or may become compulsory upon decision of the organizer).

In all cases, we advise you to plan to equip yourself with a mask.


Indicative list of gatherings of more than 1000 people affected by the health pass:

  • Marquees, theaters, sporting or cultural performance venues, conference rooms

  • Trade fairs and exhibitions (by exhibition hall)

  • Stadiums, outdoor establishments and indoor sports establishments

  • Theme parks (only for the categories of establishments that make it up, such as a restaurant inside the park). We strongly advise you to check with the park before your arrival.

  • Large casinos

  • Outdoor sit / stand festivals

  • Outdoor sports competitions outside (if the feasibility conditions are established)

  • Cruises and passenger boats with accommodation over 1000 passengers

  • Other events, when they are specifically localized. Ex: balls organized by local authorities
